To all my Birthmother Sisters,

Over the last 19 years, my adoption journey has taken me on some seriously intense emotional ups and downs. If given the opportunity to go back and do it all again, I can think of a lot that I might change, but I realize that each and every experience taught me something unique. Without those experiences, I may not be where I am at today. Our life journeys allow us to grow as individuals; and when adoption becomes part of our journey we gain a perspective into life that few others will ever truly understand.

This Valentine’s Day, I hope that each of you are filled with peace, love, and an understanding that you are not alone. One thing I discovered about 5 years ago, is the power of being in the presence of other women that chose adoption. We all come from different walks of life and with our own unique experiences, but adoption is what binds our hearts together. Choosing to place our sweet little one’s with a family we barely know is an enormous leap of faith. I took that leap many years ago and I can say that it has been one of the most difficult and yet, fulfilling decisions of my life.

I was able to give my son the life I knew he needed and deserved and I have now had the opportunity to reunite with him and touch his sweet face again. I cannot imagine going through our reunion without the love and support of my fellow birthmother sisters. You were there when I needed to vent, you’ve been there when I needed to cry, and you’ve been there when I just needed to show off my latest pictures or brag about how awesome my sweet Braden is! Each of you have brought a new story and perspective of adoption that has made me appreciate you even more.

I want each of you amazing women to know how BEAUTIFUL you are, how BRAVE you are, how much you are truly LOVED! Most of all, I hope you know that you are NEVER ALONE.

All my love, Janice
