Unplanned pregnancies happen and every person's story is different, personal and their own. As you watched the video, we hope it expanded your perspective and helped you recognize that we've all been impacted, either directly or indirectly, by the brave love of a birth mother who wanted the best for her child and chose adoption.

It takes a lot of humility, sacrifice and courage to choose adoption when confronted by an unplanned pregnancy. A woman’s decision to place for adoption is not easy and does not mean she did not want or love her child. But sometimes the world says otherwise.

I was adopted at birth and have never met my birthmother, but I am full of love for her for giving me the family and life that I have. Partially because of my adoption experience, I have two adopted children with my husband…watching their birthmither say goodbye and walk her separate way from the hospital was the single most holy, breathtaking, heartbreaking, beautiful act of courage and strength I have ever witnessed. That moment has informed my parenting every day since. I have learned from her, and her example of sacrificial love will be a permanent part of our kids, even as they grow in their understanding of it. She will always be a hero in our family because of who she is—strengths, flaws, and all—and we keep in contact with her regularly because we love her and want the best for her AND the children she gave us the honor of raising. We want our children to experience the love that we have been so incredibly honored to witness from her to them. Whoever you are, I have seen a braver womanhood than the world thinks you are capable of. You are NOT alone. <3

Dear Birth Mom,

I am a wife, a mother of an angel baby, and a woman hoping with all my heart to be a momma one day. Thank you for your selflessness and brave love. Thank you for giving the gift of motherhood to other women. Thank you for putting your child’s needs above your own and giving the gift of family to others. As one who desperately wants to fill her home with children, I am grateful for you and your gift to others – it is wonderful that there are people like you willing to make others’ dreams come true despite your own loss. Our family is forever and ever grateful for our birth mother’s selfless love. Without her we would not be complete. Thank you PAM W. and Linda for 4 beautiful adopted babies, now teenagers. I was unable to have children but became a Mom through both of you. All are in school and doing well and some are approaching High School graduation. I Look back and remember when they were small and how sometimes we’d all gather & see each other at picnics. I will be forever indebted to you for your gift of life! Our babies are well cared for and a smidge spoiled but happy and healthy too. I am very proud to be their Mom ! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of you birth MOMS out there !
