Unplanned pregnancies happen and every person's story is different, personal and their own. As you watched the video, we hope it expanded your perspective and helped you recognize that we've all been impacted, either directly or indirectly, by the brave love of a birth mother who wanted the best for her child and chose adoption.

It takes a lot of humility, sacrifice and courage to choose adoption when confronted by an unplanned pregnancy. A woman’s decision to place for adoption is not easy and does not mean she did not want or love her child. But sometimes the world says otherwise.

I am an adoptee and I am 50 years old and in 2000 my adoptive mom passed away but before she passed I asked her if she would care if I looked for my birth mom she said yes look for her and when you find her tell her thank you from the bottom of my heart. In 2008 I found my birth mother and 4 sister and in 2010 found my birth father and 4 bothers and 1 sister, I have an awesome relationship with my birth mom and siblings not such a good one with my birth father but my siblings on his side we have a good relationship. I was blessed to have an amazing mom and dad that adopted me at 2 months old and loved me and showed me what family and love is all about,.

Whoever this reaches to,

First off I’d like to tell you, I myself am a birth mother.

I was 16 yrs old and pregnant with my Abby.

I wanted a better life for her than I could provide at my age.

Also I didn’t want to let go. I did it for her, so she could flourish into the young lady she is today. Adoption is a beautiful thing, I was lucky enough to be a part of her life from afar. At 17 years old Abby found me and we have a open communication and slowly formed a relationship. Abby is going to be 22 this year and I’m happy she is now a part of my life. It won’t be easy but I’m here to tell you it gets so much better. Adoption is a brave and selfless act of unconditional love, and you’re the one who gets to make another woman’s wish come true.

We adopted two baby girls 18 and 20 years ago and it is the best thing that ever happened to us! We love them unconditionally and because we waited so long for a child, we treated them with the utmost respect and appreciation. Don’t get me wrong, it was hard and trying at times, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. They didn’t grow in my belly, but they grew in my heart. We are forever grateful to the birth mom and dad.

When I learned I could not have my own child, I was devastated. I will be forever grateful for the two birthmothers who each gave a son up for adoption some 40+ years ago.

Hello lovely. Your a brave little lady for going through such a selfless decision. Your giving life twice. By bringing them into the world and by making sure they have a chance. I was adopted and I also gave a child up for adoption. Wonderful things have come from both situations. Your doing the right thing. I’m praying for your strength. Stay strong dear heart. Your daughter has enriched our lives for more than 30 years and is a wonderful big sister! I love sharing stories with other adoptive families when they come into our lives and creating “I Spy” quilts for these families.

I was placed for adoption 31 years ago. My birth mother was 15 at the time. When I was 19, I got the chance to meet her. I’m so, so grateful for her selfless love. Growing up, I never felt anything but gratitude, respect, and love for her. I always knew that only the greatest love in the world could compel her to put my needs first and give me away. Thank you for your gift and your love towards your baby.

I was placed for adoption at birth, and have had a loving relationship with my birth mother since age 21. I’m blessed to have two wonderful moms. My youngest daughter is adopted and has a very strong relationship with her birth mom. We would not want it any other way.

When I think of the word birth mother I think of my best friend. 2 years ago next month she made the selfless brave decision to place her beautiful daughter with an amazing family! I hope this encourages more women to choose adoption, I see how happy she gets recurving pictures and updates and when she visits her and I hope more women get to experience all the love that comes along with it!
