As you watched the video, we hope it expanded your perspective and helped you recognize that we've all been impacted, either directly or indirectly, by the brave love of a birth mother who wanted the best for her child and chose adoption.

It takes a lot of humility, sacrifice and courage to choose adoption when confronted by an unplanned pregnancy. A woman’s decision to place for adoption is not easy and does not mean she did not want or love her child. But sometimes the world says otherwise.

I just want to encourage all of the birth moms out there and say what courageous heroes you are. The birth mothers of my three children are absolutely the epitome of selflessness and love. I think of them often and am blown away by the miracle of life they provided to our family. I recognize the difficulty and loss associated with this decision, and I want them to know how truly blessed we are by them. Their children think of them as heroes as well. Adoption = love.

I am a birth mom and I love my daughter with every breath I have. I am fortunate enough to have amazing adopted parents, that I am able to be apart of her life and know her as she grows up. It took a lot of strength to get back to being me again, but I would never chance the decision I made for my daughter, to have a life I could not offer and to have the love of two families that are all hers

Dear Brave Girl, I cannot tell you what your act of love and kindness will mean to someone. It will show your child that you love them, more than you love yourself. Because it will be hard and your heart will hurt. But, you will be a true mother, because you will have put your child’s health, safety and welfare first before your own feelings. And that is what a true mother does, she puts her child first. My daughter is adopted. She is the love of my life and my reason for living. I believe in a lot of ways, she saved my life. Our baby was placed with us last year just after his birth. The court recently finalized the adoption, but he was our son from the first moment we learned that his birth mother chose us to raise him. Christian is such a sweet & happy boy and he is loved & adored by us – & all who know him. Although our hearts & home are brighter & happier since his arrival, we absolutely know that his & our gains are at his loss of his birth family and at his birth mother’s sacrifice. The day after his birth, we were able to meet his birth mother & it was one of our best experiences. We speak of her often &, having hugged her & looked into her eyes, we are so glad we can tell our son that we KNOW her decision was made in love. We wish every blessing to her & to all the mothers who – for whatever reason – find themselves in a place where they have to make this choice.

My husband and I are adoptive parents of five. All of our children came to us at different times and stages of their lives, from infancy to seven years old. We have always tried to help them to be the best that they can be, knowing that their talents came from both nature and nurture. Also, that they know that their birth mother made and incredibly difficult but most loving decision when she made their adoption plan. Thank you so much for loving your child.
