What are the stages of grief?

The timetable for grief varies widely. Since it is impossible to anticipate your emotions, it is also hard to anticipate how you will grieve. Some of the common stages of grief that birth moms may experience are: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. Not everyone experiences each stage, and you may work through stages at different rates. Utilizing the counseling services provided by most adoption agencies can help you manage feelings of loss and pain.
