Dear Birthmom,

I want to encourage you today about the decision you have made. Having made this choice I know some of the feelings you may be experiencing. It is an exquisite pain.

You know you are doing the best for your child (if circumstances were different you would not need to make a choice like this) and yet you feel as if your heart is breaking. Remember that as you go through this process God is holding you in His hands. He has given you the heart and ability to do this. And He is holding you up as you go through the grief of saying goodbye.

This is a verse that I rely on: Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”

Your decision has given your child life: may God richly bless you for your sacrifice.
