Unplanned pregnancies happen and every person's story is different, personal and their own. As you watched the video, we hope it expanded your perspective and helped you recognize that we've all been impacted, either directly or indirectly, by the brave love of a birth mother who wanted the best for her child and chose adoption.

It takes a lot of humility, sacrifice and courage to choose adoption when confronted by an unplanned pregnancy. A woman’s decision to place for adoption is not easy and does not mean she did not want or love her child. But sometimes the world says otherwise.

Dear Birth Mother of Ethiopia, know that you have the option of placing your child in the care of another loving family or the government orphanage. Abandoning or using your child for begging is risky for the future life of your child.

I have two adopted children and my grandmother was the head of an orphanage. Adoption plays a key role in my life. I love my kids – never think of them as adopted and will always be there for them. It was the hardest thing I ever did but I held him and told him I was placing him in Gods hands to find a great family who would love him and give him the things I could not. On June 4, 2014 he found me and we talked on the phone and on June 30 we reunited and he also got to meet the rest of his family. 2014 was the best Christmas I ever had as he, his wife, 2 children and his adopted father ( his mother had passed) and my other two sons and families spent Christmas at our house. We talk or text often and see each other average 4 times a year as he now lives in Texas and we live in Kansas. Thank you so much catholic charities for placing my son with such a wonderful family which was an answer to my prayer. Thank you, Tony, for turning into such a great human being.

I am so lucky to know my birth mother and father. I think every adoption should be open unless the parents are found not fit.

I gave my daughter up for adoption 31 years ago to a lovely woman who couldnt have children and she raised my daughter to be a wonderful woman and mother. Gave her a life I wish I could have given her..
