This is Susan. She has worked in the adoption world as a social worker for years, and especially cherished her time working alongside expectant and birth parents. She's a great person to answer this question:
"What’s the difference between an adoption agency and an attorney?"
In general, an adoption agency provides more holistic birth parent care that includes counseling and help with an adoption case worker. The adoptive family also has a caseworker to help them. With an attorney, they handle the legal side of the adoption process.
