Meet Kim Waters, BraveLove's Director of Development, who lives in Murphy, Texas (close to Dallas).
Q: How did you first hear about BraveLove?
A: I heard about BraveLove last summer from a dear friend and colleague that was working with BraveLove on some of their projects.
Q: How long have you been working with BraveLove?
A: I joined the BraveLove team in August 2023. The team and supporters have been so welcoming!
Q: What’s your role with the organization?
A: As the Development Director at BraveLove, I am responsible for creating and executing a fundraising strategy that connects BraveLove to the communities we serve.
Q: What's one of your favorite parts of your job?
A: Meeting new people and building relationships
Q: Why do you care about this mission?
A: I had an unplanned pregnancy when I was 17 and can relate to all of the emotions that come with that. My high school sweetheart and I have now been married for 21 years and have 3 children, Emily (21) being our oldest. That being said - helping women know they are not alone in difficult situations is why I care about this mission.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: Spend time with friends and family and watching our kids play football and soccer.
Q: I know you can’t pick a favorite story or film, but which one really stands out to you?
A: I appreciate that the stories that we share are so authentic and real and share the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Q: What does life look like for you these days?
A: Today I am married to my high school sweetheart, and we have 3 kids (ages 21, 17, and 16). On any given weekend you can find us on a soccer or football field.
Q: What's in your Amazon cart right now?
A: Cushions for our outdoor patio!
Q: Go-to coffee or tea order?
A: Some version of mint tea
